PROVIDENCE – Prices held steady at $2.60 per gallon for self-serve, regular unleaded gas in Rhode Island this week, 9 cents above the national average of $2.51 per gallon, according to AAA Northeast Monday.
Prices in the Ocean State ranged 27 cents, from a low of $2.43 to a high of $2.70 per gallon.

Last year at this time, the price of regular gas was 40 cents lower at $2.20 per gallon.
Midgrade gasoline averaged $2.89 per gallon this week, ranging from $2.71 to $2.99 per gallon. Premium gasoline averaged $3.08 per gallon, ranging from $2.93 to $3.19.
Diesel fuel averaged $2.82 per gallon, ranging from $2.76 to $2.89 per gallon.
In Massachusetts, regular gasoline prices declined 5 cents to $2.48 per gallon, 3 cents below the national average. Prices ranged from $2.33 to $2.65 per gallon.
One year ago, prices in Massachusetts were 42 cents lower at $2.06 per gallon.
Midgrade unleaded averaged $2.69 per gallon, from $2.53 to $2.99 per gallon. Premium unleaded averaged $2.86 per gallon, ranging from $2.73 to $3.19 per gallon.
Diesel fuel in the Bay State averaged $2.74 this week, ranging from $2.59 to $2.99 per gallon.
