PROVIDENCE – Johnston Public Schools Instructional Technology Coordinator Debra Turchetti-Ramm was named a PBS Digital Innovator All-Star by WSBE Rhode Island, the viewer-supported member of the PBS network said in a press release.
Turchetti-Ramm was one of 30 educators nationwide to get the honor, part of a cohort that is leading the way in use of digital media and technology in classroom teaching. Turchetti-Ramm was named a PBS Lead Digital Innovator in 2015.

In the coming school year, she will partner with Rhode Island PBS to ramp up engagement with PBS educational resources, the station said. Turchetti-Ramm will also have access to the PBS Digital Innovator All-Star Summit in Chicago.
Turchetti-Ramm has been the instructional technology coordinator for Johnston schools since the role was created in 2016. She taught fourth grade in the district for 20 years. She is a national board-certified teacher and president of the Rhode Island Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development. A Johnston Teacher of the Year, Turchetti-Ramm was one of 30 Rhode Island educators who contributed to the state’s education technology report.
“Debra’s positive impact on educators and their students is clearly seen in her district and – due to her leadership – indeed across the state,” said Jon Rubin, director of education services at Rhode Island PBS, based in Providence.
“I am thrilled to continue to be a part of PBS and its incredible tech tools for teachers,” said Turchetti-Ramm.
