NEWPORT, R.I. – Bobby Gondola Jr. of Providence, R.I., a 2006 graduate of Salve Regina, was honored with the university’s Outstanding Young Alumnus Award during its recent Fall Festival Weekend.
Gondola, the senior director of operations and development at Year Up in Providence, earned dual degrees in painting and political science from Salve Regina. He went on to accept a public service fellowship at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and completed his master’s degree in political advocacy and leadership in 2008.
In addition to his participation as an active alumnus on various university event committees, Gondola serves on the WaterFire Providence Board, College Leadership Rhode Island program committee and the Providence School Board.
Salve Regina University, founded under the sponsorship of the Religious Sisters of Mercy, is an independent college in the Catholic tradition of education. Accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Salve Regina offers associate, baccalaureate and masters degrees, the Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study, the Ph.D. in Humanities and the Doctor of Nursing Practice.
