BOSTON – The median sale price of a single-family home in Bristol County, Mass., was $314,500 in September, a 6.4 percent increase from $285,500 in September 2017, according to the Warren Group Wednesday.
There were 424 sales in the county for the month, a 21.9 percent decline year over year.

The year-to-date median sale price in the Bristol County, Mass., area was $302,000 in September, compared with $290,000 through September in 2017.
The median price of a single-family home in Massachusetts in September was $379,450, a 4.7 percent increase year over year. The number of sales in the state declined 8.1 percent year over year to 4,942 sales.
“This is the fewest single-family home sales recorded in the month of September since 2014,” said Timothy Warren Jr., CEO of The Warren Group, in a statement. “The dynamic between supply and demand continues to play out across Massachusetts. Low inventory of homes for sale in a booming economy translates to lower sales volume and rising prices. These conditions continue to make this a seller’s market.”
The year-to-date median sale price for the state was $387,500 in September, a 6.2 percent increase from one year prior.
There were 79 condominium sales in Bristol County, Mass., a 21.8 percent decline from 101 sales in September 2017. The median price of a condo was $215,000, the same as the year before. Condo sales year to date increased slightly from 731 to 737 in September. The year-to-date median price for a condo was also $215,000, a 5.9 percent increase from the first nine months of last year.
The median price of a Massachusetts condo in September was $328,000, a 3.8 percent decline year over year. The number of condos sold declined 14.3 percent to 1,865 in September.
“September marked the first time this year that the median condo price declined on a year-over-year basis,” Warren said. “But despite the year-over-year decline in September, I fully expect 2018 to go down as a record-setting year for that market.”
Condo sales increased year-to-date through September by 0.6 percent at 18,853 sales with a median sale price of $369,000, compared with a median price of $340,500 one year prior.
