PORTSMOUTH, RI – November 18, 2013 – The Friends of the Glen Manor House announced today that the annual holiday festivies at the Glen Manor House will be cancelled for 2013. The Holly Ball and the Holiday Open House are both popular events each year and are well-attended by the community, but demolition is starting of the former Elmhurst School, located next to the Glen Manor House, with the final plans for the project still uncertain.
“Our plan is for full operation from May 2014 onward and we hope those faithful attendees to our functions will join us then,” said Katie Wilkinson, Resident Manager for the Glen Manor House. “Our 2014 Holly Ball event is going to be very different than in years past, making it something to look forward to, and we know everyone is going to be very excited about it.”

The Friends of Glen Manor House is a private non-profit organization of individuals dedicated to the restoration, preservation, and maintenance of the Glen Manor House for the enjoyment of present and future generations of Portsmouth residents.
