PCU’s Costa honored by NEACH for extensive contributions in payments

MIDDLETOWN – Tiffany Costa, head of digital delivery and deposit services at People’s Credit Union, has been named the 2024 Rising Star by the New England Automated Clearing House, the credit union announced.

The award is presented annually and “recognizes an individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in the innovation, excellence, implementation, or promotion of electronic payments,” according to a news release.

“The NEACH Rising Star Award singles out those payments leaders who not only embody the spirit of their institutions but of the entire industry,” said Sean Carter, CEO and president of New England Automated Clearing House. “Tiffany brings a dedication to her role that will help People’s Credit Union continue to exceed their members’ expectations. We’re pleased to honor her work this year.”

Costa was recognized for her dedication to advancing payment options at PCU, the credit union said, adding that Costa, with the support of her team, instituted a suite of cash management products, including positive pay and remote deposit capture; is working on a project to set up infrastructure to support business Automated Clearing House origination; and has helped the credit union introduce receive-only real-time payments, with the expectation to incorporate send functionality in the next year.

She welcomes new payment rails and executes the onboarding of these modalities with judgement, an open mind, and a judicious focus on fraud,” said Erine Lewis, head of risk management at People’s Credit Union. “It is, in part, because of her leadership and guidance that People’s Credit Union is able to adopt and embrace new products and services for our members.”
