FALL RIVER – Sharon Macinnes, vice president of risk management and Community Reinvestment Act officer for BankFive, has been named a board member of Junior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts Inc., the bank and nonprofit jointly announced.
“We are grateful and excited to have Sharon on our Board of Directors,” Jeffrey Pelletier, CEO and president of Junior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts, said in a statement. “She has been a long-time supporter, volunteer, and she has helped coordinate education programs that have positively impacted hundreds of local [youths]. Sharon is a tremendous addition to our Board of Directors and we continue to be appreciative of our long-time community partnership with BankFive that helps Junior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts drive impact across the region.”

Macinnes, a Fall River resident and 20-year veteran of BankFive, has committed more than two decades to promoting financial literacy through her involvement with Junior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts, a regional nonprofit whose mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in the global economy, according to a news release. The New England School for Financial Studies at Babson College graduate began at BankFive as a teller, then became assistant branch manager before serving in her current role as vice president of risk management and CRA officer.
Macinnes was previously named the 2023 recipient of the John S. Brayton Community Service Award by One SouthCoast Chamber of Commerce because of her dedicated involvement with several community organizations, including Junior Achievement, Coastline Elderly Services, the Salvation Army and United Way of Greater Fall River, according to the release.
“We are proud of the important work that Sharon has accomplished with the Junior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts to provide financial literacy, career readiness, and entrepreneurship opportunities to students from the start of their learning journeys in kindergarten through senior year of high school,” BankFive CEO and President Anne P. Tangen said in a statement. “Sharon is a role model and motivated mentor to students across Southern Massachusetts who has seen firsthand how financial education can lead to great success.
