PROVIDENCE – Centreville Bank has opened its new downtown Providence branch at 142 Westminster St., marking the second branch the bank has opened in the city this year.
The West Warwick-based mutual bank celebrated the opening on Monday. The downtown location offers personal and business banking services and Saturday hours.

The branch follows Centreville’s opening of its Olneyville location earlier this year, expanding the bank’s presence in Providence.
The bank also announced $5,000 grants to two Providence nonprofits during the grand-opening celebration: Better Lives Rhode Island and Social Enterprise Greenhouse.
Better Lives Rhode Island provides services to individuals and families facing food insecurity, housing instability and other challenges, while Social Enterprise Greenhouse supports mission-driven businesses and organizations.
Harold M. Horvat, bank chairman, CEO and president, said opening two Providence branches in one year represents the bank’s confidence in the city and its businesses.
The new branch is led by branch manager Jose Suriel.
