WARWICK – T.F. Green’s passenger traffic figures released this week show a 6.01 percent drop in January when compared to the same month 2010.

There were 255,890 passengers in January, down from 272,254 a year earlier.

Southwest Airlines continued to dominate with 53.7 percent of the airport’s passenger market share, trailed by U.S. Airways (22.8 percent) and Delta Airlines (11.1 percent).

United Airlines carved out a 7.6 percent market share, Continental Airlines cornered 4.1 percent while charters edged out Air Canada at 0.5 percent compared to the Canadian airline’s 0.2 percent.

According to figures released by the airport, passengers totaled 3.94 million in 2010, continuing a downward trend. T.F. Green saw 4.33 million passengers in 2009, 4.69 million in 2008 and 5.02 million in 2007.
