Center for Women & Enterprise changes Rising Star application process

PROVIDENCE – The Center for Women & Enterprise, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping women start and grow their own businesses, has announced a major change to its Andrea C. Silbert Rising Star Award.
Previously, the honoree was nominated by the CWE staff and selected by a volunteer committee. This year, all participants in CWE – anyone who has ever taken a class, been mentored, etc. – are invited to nominate themselves and their businesses.
The Andrea C. Silbert Rising Star Award, named after the founder of the organization, comes with a $5,000 prize and will be presented at the annual auction and gala on April 2.
To nominate your business, send a brief letter explaining how you benefited from your relationship with CWE and how you would use the prize money to advance your business goals. Applications, including a background story on your business, pictures, articles and other information, are due Jan. 7.
