People’s Power & Light teams with Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH – People’s Power & Light says the Town of Portsmouth’s municipal wind turbine will be supported by the nonprofit’s “green power” members.
Under the agreement announced last week, People’s Power & Light will purchase Renewable Energy Certificates from the turbine production for the next 10 years, meaning its members will directly support the project through the purchase of power. A portion of the energy from the energy-certificates purchase will go toward the nonprofit’s New England GreenStart program, a green-power choice available to National Grid customers.
