CAMBRIDGE – Aspen Aerogels Inc., a nanotechnology firm that designs and manufactures energy-efficient insulation products, was named Emerging Company of the Year at the New England Clean Energy Council’s first annual Green Tie Gala.
In a news release, the Council said Aspen “emerged from its development phase with tremendous momentum, and is poised to build on that momentum with rapid sales growth.”
The Nov. 21 awards dinner was the final event in Massachusetts’ first Clean Energy Week.
Aspen says its insulation products are up to eight times more effective than competing products. The Northborough, Mass.-based company opened a $30 million manufacturing facility in East Providence last summer.
