Gala to raise funds for Kent cardiac patients

Kent Hospital is sponsoring a gala, “Orient-Express: Safari to the Heart of Africa,” on Sept. 20 at Rhodes-on-the-Pawtuxet in Cranston to support cardiac care patients at the hospital.
The event will feature gourmet food, wine and dancing in an exotic environment. There will also be a raffle, with a 12-day African safari as the grand prize. Proceeds will benefit the Dr. Oswaldo R. Velis Endowed Fund for Cardiac Care and the cardiology department.
