KVH Industries receives $1.4M in defense orders

MIDDLETOWN – KVH Industries Inc. announced last week that it received two orders valued at $1.4 million from a U.S. defense contractor for the purchase of components and upgrades for the company’s TACNAV vehicle navigation system used in U.S. military combat vehicles.
The orders are scheduled to begin shipping by the close of the first quarter of 2008, the company said in a news release.
KVH’s TACNAV military vehicle navigation systems provide “unjammable, precision navigation, heading and pointing data,” the company said. The technology can also serve as a link between each vehicle and the overall digital battlefield, making each unit a node in a secure military network. TACNAV systems are currently in use on U.S. and allied vehicles participating in ongoing operations in Iraq and elsewhere, KVH said. &#8226
