PROVIDENCE – WLNE-TV Channel 6, the local ABC affiliate, tonight announced that Vincent A. “Buddy” Cianci will serve as a contributing editor and the station’s chief political analyst.
The former Providence mayor also will be working with Jim Hummel, WLNE’s chief reporter and political analyst, on a weekly segment called “Your Attention Please.”

Cianci’s hiring is effective Thursday, Nov. 1, according to Stephen Doerr, who joined the station earlier this month as its general manager and vice president. (READ MORE)
“No one knows Providence and Southern New England like him,” Doerr said. “His inside knowledge of area politics as well as his colorful take on [the region] are sure to make for great television.”
Said Cianci: “Watch, stay tuned – I’ll bring forth some serious issues and interesting topics, throw in a little bit of controversy and hopefully offer some solutions!”
