Rhode Island gasoline prices have risen 9 cents in the past week, according to AAA Southern New England.

AAA’s Feb. 26 survey of gas prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, unleaded regular averaging $2.329 per gallon, 15 cents more than just two weeks ago, but still 9 cents less than at the beginning of the year. One year ago, the average price was $2.199.

The range in prices for self-serve regular in the latest survey was 22 cents, from a low of $2.249 to a high of $2.469, the nonprofit auto club reported. AAA reported wider price ranges for other grades of fuel, and advised motorists to shop around.

Average self-serve prices for other grades of fuel this week were $2.439 per gallon for midgrade unleaded; $2.559 for premium unleaded; and $2.689 for diesel.
