Comments sought on ‘Providence Tomorrow’ plan

PROVIDENCE – An interim Comprehensive Plan, the next step in the “Providence Tomorrow” initiative to determine the future of the city’s neighborhoods, is available for public review through March 30, Mayor David N. Cicilline and the City Council announced.

“The energy and commitment exhibited by the participants in last fall’s citywide charrette are reflected in the pages of this interim plan,” Cicilline said.

“I’m pleased to say that residents from every neighborhood in the city became true partners in this process,” added City Council President Peter Mancini.

The interim plan – a draft of the plan the city must submit to the state this year when its current Comprehensive Plan expires – can be viewed in an interactive electronic form that permits readers to enter comments on each section at www.providencetomorrow.org, remotely or via a special public terminal at the Department of Planning and Development, 400 Westminster St. In addition, copies of the document can be viewed at the Planning and Development Office, and at city community centers and public libraries.
