EAST PROVIDENCE – Linda and Levi Maaia, former lead executives at Full Channel, have founded a consultancy for independent telecommunications providers, Maaia Communications.

“Today’s telecom industry is more complex than ever, and largely dominated by corporate giants,” said Linda Maaia in a Maaia Communications press release. “We’ve already climbed the mountains other independents are facing now. These challenges range from the business basics of effective content contract negotiations, to the massive task of rebuilding infrastructure in competitive marketplaces.”

With Linda as CEO and Levi as president, the Maaias transformed Full Channel from a local analog cable TV company to a state-of-the-art digital network for over a decade, beginning in 2004, according to the press release.

Under the new company, the two will offer cost-and-benefit analyses; fiber-optic deployment project management; business development and expansion; technical planning; and license fee negotiations, among other services.

The company aims to help independent providers keep up with requisite business, tech advancements, and to grow and retain strong subscriber bases, according to the press release.
