PROVIDENCE – The average price of self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline in Rhode Island declined 1 cent this week to $2.73 per gallon, level with the national average and 16 cents lower than prices at this time last year, according to AAA Northeast Monday.
Prices ranged 40 cents from $2.59 to $2.99 per gallon.
- Midgrade gas averaged $2.99, ranging from $2.89 to $3.19 per gallon.
- Premium gas averaged $3.20, ranging from $3.09 to $3.39 per gallon.
- Diesel fuel averaged $3.07, ranging from $2.96 to $3.35 per gallon.
In Massachusetts, the average price of gas remained unchanged this week at $2.70 per gallon, 3 cents lower than the national average and 12 cents lower than prices at this time last year.
Prices in the Bay State ranged 74 cents from $2.45 to $3.19 per gallon.
- Midgrade gas averaged $2.93, ranging from $2.75 to $3.25 per gallon.
- Premium gas averaged $3.09, ranging from $2.89 to $3.45 per gallon.
- Diesel fuel averaged $3.04, ranging from $2.84 to $3.49 per gallon.
