GBA adds e-prescribing to offerings for doctors

WARWICK – GBA Health Network Systems has added SCRIPTfx, a SureScripts-compatible e-prescribing program, to its services for physicians, offering it as a stand-alone product or integrated with MEDfx, GBA’s browser-based practice automation software.
SCRIPTfx securely submits electronic prescriptions to any retail or mail-order pharmacy while assessing comprehensive clinical information for each patient. The patient’s eligibility is checked along with formulary interaction, medication and pharmacy-fill histories.
The product wasn’t developed by GBA, but rather comes from DrFirst, a national provider of physician-connectivity services. Colin P. Barry, president and CEO of GBA, said the company wanted to enable its customers to benefit immediately from Medicare’s new e-prescribing payment incentives. &#8226
