PROVIDENCE – Grow Smart Rhode Island has been selected to receive a 2007 Environmental Merit Award from the Environmental Business Council of New England.
“This award will reinforce our efforts to demonstrate how much Rhode Island’s future economic well being depends on protecting and promoting its natural beauty and historic charm,” said Scott Wolf, executive director of Grow Smart Rhode Island.

Grow Smart was selected, the council said, “in recognition for its work in developing and promoting innovative policies and programs that revitalize city, town and village centers, preserve cultural and natural resources and expand economic opportunity.”
The Environmental Business Council’s annual awards, presented in June, honors companies, organizations and individuals for outstanding leadership in and contributions to promoting a sustainable, clean environment in New England.
