The recent signing of a 25-year agreement to have Fort Adams State Park in Newport host the Newport Jazz and Newport Folk festivals in Newport cements a relationship that began in 1954. With the hosting agreement, as well as a 40-year agreement to build a museum to the seminal music event in the former Museum of Yachting at the park, Rhode Island is likely to continue to enjoy the benefits of the world-class artists and visitors that the events bring to the City by the Sea.
