PROVIDENCE – In its 2017 Holiday Giving Campaign, International Game Technology PLC supported multiple local nonprofit organizations, including the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, the U.S. Marines’ Toys for Tots Foundation and Children’s Friend.

At the Providence, West Greenwich and Cranston IGT campuses, donation boxes for the food bank and Toys for Tots were put up during the week of Thanksgiving. That same week employees signed up for Children’s Friend’s Adopt-a-Family program, which provides gifts and holiday meal essentials to those in need.

Over three weeks, the Toys for Tots collection posts generated eight boxes full of new, unwrapped gifts, and employees helped 29 families – including 72 children – in need through Children’s Friend.

In a statement, Angela Wiczek, vice president of corporate communications, said: “I’m always truly amazed and inspired to see IGT employees come out in full force to lend a helping hand for our neighbors in need, especially during the holiday season.”

In addition, on Dec. 2, IGT hosted its 23rd annual Breakfast with Santa, with global solutions chairman Don Sweitzer playing the titular role. The proceeds of the breakfast event – 462 pounds of food and $565 – were donated to the food bank.
