Mark Hellendrung, CEO of Narragansett Brewing Co., has applied for permission in Providence to renovate a Brown University building in Fox Point for use as a microbrewery or pub. Woman defrauds Providence company of over $557,000 POSTED ONLINE: APRIL 1.
Jill Martinho, of Swansea, pleaded guilty to defrauding Providence-based Walco Electric Co. of $557,974 and to willfully filing false tax returns. Martinho, the company’s controller, who worked for Walco starting in 2005, was entitled to reimbursements of roughly $459,224 but charged the company roughly $1 million through the use of fraudulently created credit card statements.
