3. Home sale for $2.5M is highest on Providence East Side in 2018 POSTED ONLINE: JAN. 8. A Colonial Revival home at 61 Cooke St., Providence, was sold for $2.5 million, the highest sale on the city’s East Side in 2018. 4. Former mayor, downtown property owners sue city, state over transit hub POSTED ONLINE: JAN. 7. Former Providence Mayor Joseph R. Paolino Jr. and a group of property owners filed a lawsuit against the city and state seeking to stop work on the proposed Providence transit center. The group accuses the city, the R.I.
