PROVIDENCE – It’s only been a few months since the New England Medical Innovation Center opened its Chestnut Street location, but it’s moving down the road to offer private office spaces and an enclosed conference room to its 15 members.
On Feb. 27, the nonprofit will host an open house at the new 150 Chestnut St. spot from 5:30 to 7 p.m. to show off the new space.

NEMIC said its co-workers needed privacy away from the original innovation center, and also a bigger space so new members could be comfortably added.
The 116 Chestnut St. center is now available for facility and event rentals, according to NEMIC.
The nonprofit provides expert support to innovators, entrepreneurs and startups in the medical-technology field. It also features coworking space for individuals and companies in the field.
The effort is supported by Lifespan Corp., Rhode Island School of Design and medical-device developer Ximedica LLC, as well as Kahn, Litwin, Renza & Co. Ltd.
