Northeast Collaborative Architects earns status as women-owned small business

PROVIDENCE – Northeast Collaborative Architects LLC recently received the status of a women-owned small business by the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The firm also has certification within Connecticut as a small-business enterprise/minority business enterprise. The company has applied for certification as a minority or women business enterprise in Rhode Island.

The architectural firm is led by Synfoni Baily-Green and Andrea T. Baranyk, the majority owners. Joining them are Sean Donadio and John Scheib as owners and principals.

Headquartered in Middletown, Conn., the firm has offices in Providence, Newport, North Kingstown and the District of Columbia.

It is distinct from Newport Collaborative Architects, based in Newport, which was founded by John Grosvenor, J. Michael Abbott and Glenn R. Gardiner.

Newport Collaborative Architects merged with another architecture firm in Connecticut in 2011 and became Northeast Collaborative Architects. But the original principals have now left the firm and reestablished their original company.
