NORTH PROVIDENCE – Performance Physical Therapy’s North Providence clinic invited partners, patients, and local businesses and residents to an open house happy hour June 7 to unveil its updated, larger clinic.

Over the last several months, the North Providence location has undergone significant renovations, doubling the number of private treatment rooms, expanding the waiting and gym areas, installing gym flooring and turfgrass, and getting new equipment. At the open house, attendees were invited to check out the bigger space, enter to win a raffle prize provided by the personal training and wellness company Dexter Training Concepts and try their luck at balance, strength and flexibility challenges while talking to physical therapists.

North Providence Mayor Charles A. Lombardi, Eddie Fleury of Body Soul Riverside, Meghan Wolfsberger of Providence Pole Fitness, Greenville Primary Care’s Mark Clarke, nurse practitioner, and Linda Young, director of nursing practice, and a few dozen former and current patients and community members were in attendance.

“All the people attending to support us really represents what it means for Performance to be a part of the community we serve,” said Dr. Dave Pavao, regional director for Performance’s northern clinics and Performance Physical Therapy’s chief clinical officer.

The bigger space and improvements, he said, will allow the clinic to meet the growing need for physical therapy among the North Providence community and to expand the clinic’s prenatal and postnatal care and occupational health and sports injury services. Since opening in 2004, the clinic has more than doubled its staff from three to seven to keep up with the increasing number of patient visits.

“We wanted to have this event to show the community what we have to offer and the changes we’ve made,” said Pavao, “and to thank the people of North Providence for their support in our success.”
