Promoting peace
The Nonviolence Institute will hold its annual “Invest in Peace” fundraiser on Thursday, Sept. 19, from 5-8 p.m. at Farm Fresh Rhode Island, 10 Sims Ave., Unit 103, Providence. The event for ages 21 and older will offer a silent auction, raffles, food, beer, wine and nonalcoholic beverages. Tickets cost $25 before Sept. 19 and $40 on the day of the event. Night of celebration
The Providence Performing Arts Center will hold its annual Gala Celebration on Saturday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m. at the theater, 220 Weybosset St., Providence. The event will include the first performance of “A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical,” and an exclusive post-show reception featuring cuisine prepared by some of Rhode Island’s top restaurants and catering companies. The Cuddles of Hope Foundation will hold its fourth annual Car Show Fundraiser on Sunday, Sept. 29, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Overlook at Meehan, 2 Governor Notte Parkway, Bldg. 3, North Providence. The event will feature classic automobiles on display and other festivities. Admission is free for the public, $20 for people to register their show vehicles and $40 for VIP vehicle registration.
