EAST PROVIDENCE – Commercial printing firm The Warwick Group Inc., which does business as The PrintSource Group, recently installed a new six-color printing press manufactured by Komori Corp. of Tokyo.
The Lithrone 28 (LS628) press, with in-line aqueous coater made by privately held Komori, one of the largest press manufacturers in the world, will increase printing volume and reduce turnaround times, according to PrintSource President Donald R. Shortman, who founded the company in 1969.

“Along with offering us broader print capabilities, the LS628 delivers an extremely quick make-ready, which is great for efficient, cost-effective printing,” he said. “Additionally, the fact the press can print 12,000 to 13,000 impressions in an hour helps us achieve our goal for quick turnaround.”
The LS628 press also allows for the integration of soy-based inks, which fits in with PrintSource’s efforts to be a green company. The firm received the Forest Stewardship Council certification last year, establishing that the company’s paper products originate from well-managed forests.
