This year, Providence Business News’ Business Excellence Awards celebrate 10 years of honoring individuals and companies that have helped define Rhode Island’s business community. From entrepreneurs to 2-century-old enterprises, the winners in the BEA competition – chosen by their peers – provide a powerful example of how to do things right. They have grown their businesses in all kinds of economic conditions while giving back to their communities with money, and more significantly, time.
This year’s honorees are no exception. Peter Arpin, executive vice president of Arpin Group Inc., is being honored for his business leadership, including his push for green initiatives throughout the family of Arpin companies. Navigant Credit Union’s President and CEO Gary Furtado is to be feted for his corporate citizenship, a recognition not only of his long service to the community but his particular efforts in raising money for the new headquarters of the Rhode Island Special Olympics. The list of all the winners on Page 4 is, as always, impressive.
Thank you, again, to our judges, who took time out of their busy schedules to read through the many entries and ultimately make the difficult choices. They, too, are listed on Page 4.
As always, the Business Excellence Awards are made possible by the generous support of our sponsors. Presenting sponsor is Bank Rhode Island, while partner sponsors are Bryant University, Cox Business, Koch Eye Associates, Lefkowitz, Garfinkel, Champi & DeRienzo P.C., Partridge Snow & Hahn LLP, Tufts Health Plan and USI Insurance. The media sponsor is WPRV-AM 790. The awards ceremony was held Nov. 18 at the Providence Marriott Downtown.
Sincerely,
