WORCESTER – Providence and Worcester Railroad Co. announced this month that it has entered into an eight-year collective bargaining agreement with the union that represents all of the company’s maintenance crafts.
P. Scott Conti, PWRC president, in a news release announcing the July 11 agreement with the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen, calling the pact “good for both the company and the union.”

The announcement comes on the heels over several other contracts signed with other unions representing PWRC employees. In August 2006, the company announced that it had entered into an eight-year agreement with the Transportation Communications International Union, which represents all the company’s clerical employees. And in October 2005, the company announced that it had entered into an eight-year agreement with the United Transportation Union, which represents all of its train service employees.
