MIDDLETOWN – Two local entrepreneurs have joined forces to market a new tool that helps homebuyers research the best deals on title insurance.
The patent-pending product is called TitleHound and it was created by Jeffrey Adam and Nick Liuzza of NexGen Compliance Solutions LLC, a Middletown-based software company that Adam incorporated in Delaware a year ago.

Brokers can use TitleHound to search rates from five major mortgage underwriters and find the lowest available. It also offers information on discount rates available for first-time buyers, soldiers and seniors. Liuzza and Adam said they saw an opportunity for products focused on lending and legal compliance in the mortgage market.
The software was first developed by Linear Title & Closing Ltd., a Middletown-based firm incorporated by Liuzza in 2004, as the real estate mortgage industry stumbled last year.
Liuzza eventually sought out Adam’s assistance in finishing TitleHound, and in September the companies announced that NexGen, a firm created by Adam, would license the software.
“We have a strong management team, and my focus as president and CEO has been to solidify the marketing message while expanding our distribution channel, the NexGen Network,” Adam said in a statement.
TitleHound was also integrated into San Jose, Calif.-based Calyx Software’s popular Point program for mortgage officers this summer.
