CRANSTON – Business-telecommunications company Rhode Island Telephone recently acquired Teltech for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition, announced Friday, took place at the beginning of June. Under the terms of the acquisition, Teltech owner Keith Traversie will continue to provide service for his former Teltech clients as a member of the Rhode Island telephone staff.

“This acquisition is expected to catapult Rhode Island Telephone as the premier provider of business telephone systems in the area,” said George Shaheen, president of Rhode Island Telephone.
Rhode Island Telephone was founded in 1987 by current company President George Shaheen. The local company employs 10 people at its Cranston location, and offers a variety of telecommunications products and services to businesses.
