LENDING A HAND: Team Hasbro members Hannah Petrie, foreground, senior coordinator on the employee experience team at Hasbro Inc., and project engineer Bethany Whalen, next in line, help collect food to pack bags with the Pawtucket Backpackers at Blackstone Academy in Pawtucket on May 22. Team Hasbro, the Pawtucket-based toymaker’s employee volunteer program, has employees volunteer thousands of hours each year and offer services to the community. According to its website, employees can take four hours of paid time off every month to volunteer with programs or for an organization that benefits children. Signature programs that Team Hasbro participates in include Game Day, in which employees volunteer to play and donate games to hospitalized or underprivileged children; Playful Painters, an initiative that has employees paint a mural for a children’s organization; and Operation Playspace, in which employees create Hasbro-themed play areas for children.
