WARREN – Paperboard box-design and manufacturing company Taylor Box, through collaboration with Polaris MEP, has earned its ISO 9001 certification, the company announced.
Polaris MEP Project Manager John Gilheeny worked with Taylor Box Quality Manager Donna Costa on developing ISO standards to meet certification requirements and improve overall quality. Taylor Box developed a company-specific ISO manual as well, measuring and documenting its continuous-improvement process, according to a news release.

“This process now ensures our employees are advocating even more for our customers by feeling a greater sense of empowerment in determining whether a product within the production process is not meeting our highest-quality standards and escalating any concerns until they feel they are addressed,” said Costa.
Results, said Taylor Box President Dan Shedd, include better understanding of procedure, cross-departmental training and inventory management.
“Our design awards attest to our creativity, but being ISO certified reinforces our reliability and quality,” he said in a statement.
Nonprofit Polaris MEP, a business unit of URI Ventures, works with Rhode Island manufacturers to help them grow.
