Cindy Salvato started her behind-the-scenes Federal Hill tours as a reward for her students. If they worked hard in her Johnson & Wales University class and had good attendance, she’d take them to Atwells Avenue for an adventure and some great food.
As the word got out, she started taking small groups to the Hill. And over the last three or four years, it’s just taken off.
Salvato is booked solid through June and is already filling dates in September to go food shopping, watch ravioli being made, make bread twists.
“What’s been fascinating for me,” she said, “is that most of the people on my tour are from southeastern New England.”
