PROVIDENCE – United Way of Rhode Island’s young professionals group is hosting an event for millennial-age participants to learn more about personal finance.
The group, known as the Young Leaders Circle, is calling the event “Financial Fitness: Money Management for Millennials.” It’s scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 3 at Equity National Title in Providence.

The event is designed to help young Rhode Islanders learn how to get their finances in order, according to organizers. It will include a panel discussion and keynote speaker before attendees will break out into one of three 45-minute workshops.
The panel includes Ernie Almonte, a partner at RSM US LLP and Rhode Island’s former auditor general. He’ll be joined by David Almonte, audit manager at Grant Thornton LLP, and Cheryl A. Dugas Ethier, a certified public accountant at SK Wealth Management LLC.
The cost to attend is $10 per person. All proceeds will go toward the nonprofit’s adult education programs.
