PROVIDENCE – Green builders and homeowners can unite at the Virtual Green Marketplace, an online platform launched Nov. 9 by the Rhode Island Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council.
The website, funded by a grant from the Innovation Providence Implementation Council, aims to ease the process of finding green homeowner solutions, allowing users to learn about green projects, search for environmentally responsible service providers and browse online product and systems databases.
“This website will become a hub for current green-economy opportunities, bring together invested stakeholders and help the community at large understand the work that is being done in this exciting field,” said Bill Hatfield, market president of Bank of America Rhode Island and co-chair of the IPIC.
Connie McGreavy, founder of the Virtual Green Marketplace, said the project will also include an e-commerce application. The website can be accessed at: marketplace.usgbcri.org. •
