PROVIDENCE – LIN TV Corp. (NYSE: TVL) today announced that its WTNH-TV of New Haven, Conn., and WISH-TV of Indianapolis, Ind., have been honored with two of this year’s four George Foster Peabody Awards for television news coverage.

The Peabody Awards honor excellence in broadcast journalism; 35 are given for news coverage in radio, television and the Internet.

“We are extraordinarily proud that WTNH-TV and WISH-TV are two out of only four local stations in the country to receive the Peabody Award – considered one of journalism’s most prestigious honors,” said Vincent Sadusky, president and chief executive officer of LIN TV.

The awards will be presented June 4, during a luncheon at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City.
