PROVIDENCE – VHA Inc., a national health care alliance, has recognized three Lifespan hospitals with awards for achieving exceptionally high levels of performance.
Rhode Island Hospital and Newport Hospital received the VHA Leadership Award for Clinical Excellence, while The Miriam Hospital received the Leadership Award for Operational Excellence. The awards were presented at a recent conference in Denver.
“Our Leadership Award program is designed to recognize the very best,” said Dr. Stuart B. Baker, chief operating officer at VHA, in a news release. “A major function of VHA is to help our members identify and implement best practices both operationally and clinically. We do this by highlighting the performance of hospitals like [these three] and sharing the methods and processes that will help other members reach that same level of performance.”
