By Oscar Wilde
September – October 2017
A farcical piece with rapid-fire wit and eccentric characters, “The Importance of Being Earnest” is Wilde’s last and most celebrated play. In late Victorian London, companions in cavorting Jack Worthing and Algernon “Algy” Moncrieff have fallen in love with two ladies who have their hearts set on marrying a man named Ernest. In pursuit of romance, both men concoct an elaborate deception. When Algy’s aunt, the formidable Lady Bracknell, starts sleuthing about for the truth, an outlandish surprise is revealed. Wilde’s buoyant comedy of manners will keep you anticipating a new bon mot or a fresh twist of plot from one moment to the next.
Incognito

Four actors play a total of 21 characters in “Incognito’s” three interwoven stories. A pathologist steals the brain of Albert Einstein; a neuropsychologist embarks on her first romance with another woman; and an acute amnesiac repeatedly forgets everything but his love for his wife. “Incognito” braids these mysterious stories into one play, asking whether memory and identity are nothing but illusions. From British playwright Nick Payne, author of Broadway’s “Constellations,” describe by The Telegraph as an “astonishing and original” play for our times.

March 2018
Eugene de Kock, known as “Prime Evil,” is a white policeman serving two life sentences plus 212 years for the torture and murder of anti-apartheid activists. His interrogator, Pumla Gobodo-Madikizela, is a black female psychologist tasked with discerning man from state-sanctioned monster on behalf of South Africa’s government. In a harrowing exchange, prisoner and interrogator negotiate a space where fear and compassion co-exist. Wright’s unflinching 80-minute script – distilled from Gobodo-Madikizela’s best-selling book – is a deeply human story about accountability, remorse and the complex nature of forgiveness.
