10TH ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT RAISES $22,300 FOR
HOSPICE & PALLIATIVE CARE
Fall River, MA – July 1, 2008 — The David “Bear” Charette Memorial Golf Tournament was held on Monday, June 2, at the Fall River Country Club.
The annual tournament — now in its 10th year — is organized by Rick and Alan Charette in memory of their brother David, who lost his battle with cancer in 1998. The first tournament was held just a few months after David’s death.
The tourney has raised more than $200,000 to support Hospice & Palliative Care’s work to provide comprehensive, compassionate and specialized care for terminally-ill patients and their families.
“Each year, Hospice serves hundreds of families without regard to their insurance status or ability to pay for service.” said Joanne Gregory, Director of Community Affairs. “We are extremely grateful for the ongoing support of our mission from the entire Charette family.”
The $22,300 raised in this year’s tournament will support patient care and bereavement-support programs.
