
PROVIDENCE – Presented by the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council, the eighth annual Woony River Ride Bike-a-thon will take place on Saturday, Sept. 16 along the banks of the Woonasquatucket River Greenway.
The event, which is chaired by Patricia Resende of WJAR-TV NBC 10, will begin and end at Waterplace Park in Providence. The 60-mile ride will begin at 8 a.m. with other routes started at 30-minute increments until 11:30. Riders can register and find the schedule online.

Along the way there will be stops open at Steere Orchard, Snizek Park and Log Road Fishing Area as well as mechanical-assistance availability for anyone with bike-operating issues. Food from Pizza J Providence and beer from Whalers Brewing in South Kingstown and Revival Brewing out of Cranston will be available.
The Woony Ride supports the WRWC’s youth programs, including Red Shed Bike Camp and K-12 outdoor learning, bike path care and a longer and stronger Greenway.
