URI students launch University Pulse Media advertising agency

SOUTH KINGSTOWN – Thanks to Connor Flynn, a senior marketing major at the University of Rhode Island, URI students now have a platform on which to connect with local businesses.

Launched in September, University Pulse Media is a student-led social media advertising agency that produces mostly video content geared both to business and campus interests. Then the U-Pulse team sells the videos to local businesses, which use it in their social media outreach.

“We started this hoping to target and build content for the university. Currently, one of our main goals is to help students realize all of the amenities available to them right in the Kingston Emporium at the top of campus,” Flynn said in a statement.

One local company U-Pulse has begun to work with is Caliente, a Mexican restaurant located at the Kingston Emporium, a small shopping center not far from the URI campus.

In addition to Flynn, the company is led by a student board, which advises on subjects including financial management, creative direction and video production.
