FALL RIVER – The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship hosted its Marine Renewable Energy Conference, “Pioneering Ocean Energy Innovation in New England,” on May 23, with about 100 attendees.
The event included panel discussions with representatives from organizations such as Anbaric Development Partners, Autonomous Marine Systems, the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, National Wildlife Federation, Ocean Renewable Power Co., Orsted, Resolute Marine, Verdant Power and Vineyard Wind. Topics included how government is investing to spur innovation; the economics of “putting steel in the water”; stakeholder engagement; and entrepreneurship and innovation in the supply chain.

The keynote speaker was Philippe Frangules, vice president of power, gas, coal and renewables for HIS Markit of Cambridge, Mass., and he discussed “How Renewables Can Be a Game Changer.”
