NORTH ATTLEBORO – Emerald Square Mall’s occupancy is making a recovery after falling below the 90 percent mark in 2010, according to Security and Exchange Commissions filings by parent company Simon Property Group.

Emerald Square averaged 91.7 percent occupancy during 2011 compared with 89.9 percent occupancy in 2010, reported the Sun Chronicle.

The mall, whose cornerstone businesses include JCPenney, Sears and Macy’s, had occupancy as high as 94.4 percent in 2008, according to the filing.
