I couldn’t agree more. Rhode Island’s knowledge economy is here and is an engine of growth….and the importance knowledge economy requires the the know-how.
And that’s where Rhode Island has a long head start. This is a state that has been making hard things well for a very long time. Precision manufacturing. Submarine assembly at Quonset. Biologics manufacturing in West Greenwich. Generations of people who know how to take an idea and actually build it, at scale, to spec, every time.
Knowledge tells you what’s possible. Know-how is what gets it out the door.
The economies that win the next decade won’t be the ones with the best ideas, the best factories and the most future ready workforce. It will be the ones that have all three working together. Rhode Island already has already demonstrated this is some industries and I believe we are ready to apply this blue print to other industries.
