Brooks tapped for top post at Lincoln School

PROVIDENCE – Peter Brooks has been named the new director of middle and upper schools at the Lincoln School, a college-prep school for girls.
Brooks has been a teacher, the dean of faculty and head of the visual and performing arts department at Beaver Country Day School in Chestnut Hill, Mass., since 2000.
He most recently received a master’s degree in independent-school leadership from Columbia University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in studio art and art history from Middlebury College.
Brooks received the Peter Gow Award for teaching excellence at Beaver Country Day School, and was twice the Eastern Independent League boys’ lacrosse coach of the year. Brooks is also a working sculptor and earned a public art commission for a piece that now stands at the corner of Commonwealth and Brighton avenues in Boston. &#8226
