Rhode Island Hospital recently hosted its annual Employee Service Awards Dinner, honoring nearly 1,100 employees who have reached milestones in their careers. Employees, nurses and managers of the month and of the year and new retirees were recognized, in addition to 1,048 employees who reached career anniversaries (in five-year increments).
“The monthly and annual award recipients represent the best of the best,” said Louis J. Sperling, hospital president of human resources. “Each of these employees sets a wonderful example for their peers, and serves as role models for other employees.”
Of those who celebrated career anniversaries, 133 have been with Rhode Island Hospital for at least 30 years, including one employee who has been with the hospital for 55 years.
Timothy J. Babineau, president and CEO of Rhode Island Hospital and The Miriam Hospital, said, “Health care is a rewarding profession, but it truly is a testament to an organization when so many employees stay for a significant portion of their careers.” •
